Why is Mitsuri’s blade different in Demon Slayer?

As Demon Slayer is progressing with the third installment, fans have been noticed to get more concerned about knowing the abilities and drawbacks of the weapons of their favorite demon slayers. One of them is Mitsuri Kanroji, whose weapon has created a little talk within the global fandom of the series.

It is often known as the ‘Love Sword’ and resembles a whip, was crafted by Tecchin Tecchikawahara due to its unconventional shape requiring exceptional expertise. Mitsuri’s sword’s structure is so distinctive that only she can use it without injuring herself, which can be attributed to her superhuman flexibility.

Thanks to her katana, Mitsuri can execute techniques faster than the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, and keep up with the attacks of Upper Four Hantengu’s most powerful manifestation Zohakuten.

The pink color of her whip katana is a unique feature, and her hilt is shaped like a four-leaf clover, with each leaf having a pink core with a golden border. The words “Destroyer of Demons” are engraved on the side, adding to the weapon’s mystique.

In addition to her unusual katana, Mitsuri carries a standard-sized and shaped sword sheath. However, due to the unique shape of her sword, she must fold it multiple times to correctly sheathe it. Mitsuri’s use of the whip katana, combined with her impressive agility, makes her an incredibly powerful Demon Slayer.

The ‘Love Sword’ is an extension of her own body, reflecting her soft and supple muscles and flexible joints. It takes a great deal of skill and finesse to wield the Love Sword, and only Mitsuri has been able to master it.
