Hell’s Paradise Manga Ending – Did they find the Elixir of Life?
- The manga only has 127 Chapters, but it delves deep into all the characters and their pasts. The journey to find the Elixir was just a pointless search.
- There was no way to live forever from the beginning. However, the Shogun was so selfish that he was willing to sacrifice many lives because of his greed.
In the end, Gabimaru and his team actually find the supposed Elixir of Life, but there’s a condition. Only one criminal will be forgiven, yet they manage to obtain it by working together, including Gabimaru, Yuzuriha, Tamiya Gantetsusai, Nurugai, and even Yamada Asaemon.
Which criminal did take the Elixir of Life?
They all decide that Gantetsusai will take the credit for finding it, while the other two will live secretly without revealing their identities. As for the Elixir, anyone who drinks it will transform into a tree, but only the Hoko people are affected.
But then, Jikka, a Yamada Asaemon with a high rank, tricks the people who serve the Shogun into thinking that trees have long lifespans. He also suggests that if the Shogun were to drink the Elixir, he would become a symbol for his people and watch over them forever.
In the end, all the characters who survived go their separate ways, but the strong connections they formed stay with them. All of them continue with their new lives, feeling happier than ever before.
Did Gabimaru end up with Yui in the Ending?
What makes Hell’s Paradise ending one of the best ones is that all the character had their own happy endings, including Gabimaru. Yes, after such an awesome adventure, Gabimaru successfully survives and reunites with his wife, Yui.
- As the manga progresses, we see flashbacks that show, contrary to what he says, Gabimaru and Yui had a loving and joyful married life.
- Yui made a very later appearance in the series, suggesting that Yuzuriha’s suspicion of her being imaginary might be correct. However, Yui is indeed real, and she matches the memories Gabimaru has of her.
Yui and Gabimaru – The Perfect Ending to a Love Story
Their relationship is straightforward, but that’s what makes healthy relationships work. They don’t need unnecessary drama or complications.
Even though Yui doesn’t possess fighting skills like Sagiri, she has a clear sense of her desires. Although we wish we could have seen more of her, she has her own wholesome qualities.

It’s also absolutely okay to support the idea of Sagiri being in a romantic relationship with Gabimaru. However, it’s also refreshing to witness a male and female protagonist, with one of them already in a committed relationship, develop a close friendship without any romantic potential.
