Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has become one of the most anticipated games on the PS5 in 2023. Its approaching release has left gamers on the edge of their seats. The gameplay trailer revealed the addition of the most anticipated Symbiote suit in-game. Worn by none other than Peter Parker, the Symbiote suit has left a wave of anticipation and excitement among gamers. As a result, all over the world, gamers have a lot of questions regarding the suit. Will Peter turn into Venom in Spider-Man 2? Will Peter and Miles fight each other in Spider-Man 2? These two are undoubtedly the most commonly asked questions. While the suit’s origin remains shrouded in mystery, let us try to answer these questions.
From Hero to Menace?
Peter’s Symbiote Transformation in Spider-Man 2
As Spider-Man fans, we have been waiting for this for quite some time. Insomniac Games has confirmed the Symbiote’s presence in Spider-Man 2 at the PlayStation Showcase 2023. The iconic suit brings amazing abilities, delivering us a Spider-Man who doesn’t hold back. Peter showing signs of getting controlled by the Symbiote in the gameplay trailer has left gamers in awe and shock.
Peter’s Bond with the Symbiote
As seen in the gameplay trailer, we could witness some things which led us to believe that Peter and the Symbiote are becoming closer as the Symbiote starts making decisions and influencing Peter’s thoughts.
- Peter protects himself from a missile by using the Symbiote, showing that the Symbiote is actively protecting Peter.
- Peter’s behavior becomes unusual as he is torn between saving a civilian and pursuing the Lizard. He still rescues the civilian but is rough in handling them, which surprises Miles.
- At the end of the trailer, Peter says, “He got away from us.” It’s unclear if he is talking to Miles or himself, possibly referring to the Symbiote. We can also notice the suit’s eyes getting more jagged, making it more Venom-like.

The Transition from Symbiote to Venom
Venom’s presence in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is somewhat confirmed, too, as it was featured in the game’s announcement trailer in 2022. While it is evident that the Symbiote will turn into the Venom, the question is, who will be the host of the Symbiote when it is in its Venom form? Will it be Peter himself?
- Technically, Peter Parker is the first Venom, according to the comics. When the Symbiote harnesses Spidey’s powers, it turns into the Venom.
- In the game Spider-Man 2, even though it is true that the Symbiote is actively in control of Peter to some extent, we don’t believe he will remain like this for a long time and turn into Venom.
- Many players believe Peter will cast off the Symbiote and get rid of it, eventually fighting it alongside Miles Morales.
Hence, we can conclude that Peter and Miles might have a fight, which will result in the defeat of the Symbiote. Therefore, the Symbiote will be forced to leave Peter and find a new host.
Who is Venom in Spider-Man 2?
- One person who could be the first to become Venom in the game is Harry Osborn. This was hinted at in the end credit scene of Spider-Man Miles Morales.
- There is a high possibility that other iconic Venom hosts (according to comics), such as Eddie Brock and Flash Thompson, could also become Venom in the game.
- As we already know, just like the Symbiote, these characters strongly dislike Spider-Man.
- Although they haven’t appeared in the games yet, it won’t be surprising if the developers introduce new characters out of the blue as the game progresses.
