Delhi Capitals (DC) captain, Rishabh Pant has been fined INR 12 lakhs for slow over-rate Vs. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the DY Patil Stadium. The 15th season isn’t proving good for the skipper. DC has played three matches till now but won only one match this season. The race to win the trophy is always a tough one.
Quinton De Cock magnificent inning of 80 runs and a quickfire of 10 runs by Ayush Badoni, guided Lucknow Super Giants to victory by 6 wickets in a last-over thriller.
In the first innings, Prithvi Shaw gave a good start for DC. He scored a brilliant 61 runs innings in just 34 balls. The other batsmen David Warne and Rovman Powell got out easily, which pushed DC into deep trouble. But the skipper Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan handle the innings well and took the team to a respectful score of 149/3.
Pant Used Six Bowler In The Second Inning

DC has to defend 149 to win the match. Quinton De Cock on the other hand was there to shatter their dreams. He scored 19 runs in the first over of Anrich Nortje. As a pant has used the sixth bowler as all bowlers were getting runs. This made Pant take more than the allotted time to complete the overs of his bowlers and ended up receiving the fine.
“The Delhi Capitals have been fined after they maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on April 7,” said IPL in an official release.
Rishabh Pant got away with the minimum fine since it was the team’s first offense related to slow over-rate.
