What a year to be alive! Brace yourselves for another Xbox treat this year! Rumors are spreading that Microsoft is planning to add a new Xbox Game Pass subscription service – Xbox Game Pass Family Plan. Xbox Game Pass is an Xbox subscription service that gives you access to hundreds of games both for consoles and PC.
Previously, Xbox Game Passes only allow one user per subscription.
With the family plan, users will be able to acquire 5 separate accounts. This is a perfect opportunity for a household full of gamers, or just your usual group of friends who loves gaming.
Just like other Family plans, this subscription service will be under a single account holder. Although that would be the case, we are sure it is still shareable with your family or friends.
- As of today, the price of an Xbox Game Pass is $14.99 per month, while the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $24.99 a month. The price for the family plan is still unknown but will surely be much cheaper than buying 5 separate subscriptions.
- The launch of the said new subscription service is projected to be within this year. It has been going around the gaming community for years and it may come true this year. Microsoft is yet to give an official announcement regarding the matter.
Another gaming platform, Nintendo, already got there first.
The Nintendo Switch Online Family Plan was released back in 2018, which is a group plan for online Nintendo services. Other platforms like Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ are some of the first to incorporate their services with “Family Plans”.
