- As we checked how this viral DC came to life, it led us to a Naver post about the current situation of Dokdo. The blog post is written in Korean; it summarizes what is happening to Dokdo and who could officially have sovereignty over the island. The title of the post is Current situation of Dokdo, buried in drug stories, according to its website translation.
- A K-netizen posted this on X (formerly Twitter), which has garnered over 8.7 million views since November 6. But a suggestion from another K-netizen may have started the Dokdo dance challenge as they wrote, “어쩔 수 없다 독도는 우리 땅 챌린지 만드는 수 밖에 없음.” Upon translating it, they said there was no choice but to create a Dokdo challenge in line with the promotion of the island.

- Of course, a lot of K-fans are up for the newest challenge! If Zico started the trend with his clip with MAMAMOO’s HwaSa dancing to his song, they also began fan edits and remixes of Dokdo Is Our Land; well, maybe we can say it’s the 2023 version.

What Is the Dokdo Is Our Land song about?
While we’re into this topic, Dokdo Is Our Land is a famous song in Korea, as it promotes the notion that Dokdo is a Korean land.
