Winterbite in Destiny 2 Lightfall: How to get it and what does it do

A guardian leading the charge with the Winterbite

The much-awaited Destiny 2 Lightfall is finally here and fans are looking to figure out everything there is in this expansion. Among the many new additions in the game, Winterbite is one of the biggest.

Your Destiny 2 character build can never be complete unless one exotic weapon is featured in the arsenal. Fortunately, Destiny 2 Winterbite is here for anybody who looks to feature a brand-new exotic weapon under their belt. Here is a descriptive guide on Destiny 2 Winterbite.

Destiny 2 Lightfall Winterbite: What does it do

Winterbite is the new exotic weapon added in Destiny 2 along with the many new features in the Lightfall expansion. It is a glaive exotic weapon and contrary to previous ones, this is the first time a glaive is introduced in the heavy weapon slot.

This new weapon brings new horizons to Stasis builds. The unique ability of Winterbite allows you to launch a slow-moving projectile that freezes enemies on its way allowing you to do follow-up damage with its melee strikes.

In order for you to obtain this exotic weapon, the first and foremost step is to finish the Destiny 2 Lightfall campaign. Once done with the campaign, all you have to do is make your way to the Hall of Heroes after speaking with Nimbus. From there on you have to speak with Quinn, who will give you a number of quests.

Among all the quests, you will find one exotic quest called Strider, the reward of which is the Winterbite. To obtain this quest, you must finish all the other quests that Quinn offers. Once all is done, you get to choose the Strider quest.

However, there is one pickle as the quest cannot be completed within one single day. It requires you to open three different Terminal Overload Key Chests in three Neomuna locations. These locations rotate daily so you have to check them out every day and complete the ques accordingly. And, once all the steps are done, you will obtain the exotic glaive, Winterbite.
