Will Valorant Be Supported in Windows 11?

With only a month’s time remaining for the arrival of Windows 11, Valorant players and fans are anxious if the game will run on Windows 11. Windows 11 OS will be offered as a free upgrade for Windows 10 users. However, there’s a catch. For individual systems to be compatible with the same, they must have compatible hardware components. And it looks like not only Microsoft has certain conditions, game developers seem to have that too.

Riot Games’ most popular FPS game, Valorant does not seem to run on unsupported Windows 11 systems. Valorant players trying to play on unsupported PCs which might have Windows 11 installed will receive a pop-up error message.

“This build of Vanguard requires version 2.0 and secure boot to be enabled in order to play”.

Windows 11

Since Vanguard is a mandate for playing any of the Riot Games, Valorant too will remain to not boot up on any unsupported Windows 11 OS. That being said, Valorant players who will still continue to play on Windows 10 do not need to have TPM 2.0 to play the game.

  • The need of having TPM 2.0 to play Valorant has been specified in order to prevent players from cheating as the Trusted Platform Module is gaga about security. This would imply that if an individual’s hardware/device ID receives a ban then they cannot go create another spoof new device ID to escape the same ban.
  • The inclusion of TPM 2.0 has been made only on new PCs post-2016, with the new OS upgrade of Microsoft; Windows 11 is bound to be equipped with TPM 2.0; thereby making it safe for assuming that most people with Windows 11 will have TPM 2.0.

  1. Well, my PC supports Windows 11 completely (TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, Latest BIOS update) and Valorant still does not work. Actually its the only game that is not working. My Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X with i7 9700. Any ideas?
