This season, we are witnessing another greatness in some of the sport’s greats. Some of them are having their best season, while others are showing their former MVP-caliber trait. The NBA MVP ladder has been very exciting and the moment we are all waiting for, but, who should win the MVP Award?
THE LATEST NBA MVP LADDER
(before the All-Star Break)
#1 – Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)
The reigning most valuable player, Nikola Jokic, also known as “The Joker”, has been playing fantastic and looks like trying to become back-to-back MVP.

With an almost triple-double average of 26 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists each night, the Serbian gentle giant might take home the trophy once again as he is ranked number one in the list for this week (previously ranked number two). Watch out NBA Fans!
#2 – Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers)
Joel Embiid, the heart, and soul of the Sixers, has been nothing short of spectacular as he leads Philly towards a playoff spot. With the addition of James Harden(who was traded for Ben Simmons), the Sixers are looking mighty. He is averaging a whopping 29 points, 11 boards, and 4 dimes a game.

He and Jokic are arguably the best centers in the league today, where the game is defined by fast-paced gameplay, three-point specialists, and is guard-dominated. Embiid is making a statement in his MVP nomination as he continues to climb up the ladder.
#3 – Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks)
The Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was also a previous MVP (2019,2020) is just ranked behind Embiid. With an average of 28.6 PPG, 11.3 RPG, and 6.1 APG, the Buck’s Superstar is playing at another elite level.

Leading the Bucks again, they are now the second seed in the East. Giannis is again playing like an unstoppable force on the hardwood. By the looks of it, the guy is looking for another successful playoff run and takes home the championship trophy once again.
# 4 – Chris Paul (Phoenix Suns)
Paul is still leading the young core of the Phoenix Suns and is on track for a championship run. Averaging 15 points and 11 assists a night, Paul has been an x-factor and a vital piece in this team’s success.

The Suns are the best team in the NBA right now, with a record 46-10. They have also previously tallied a 17 game win streak this season.
#5 – Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors)
Arguably the greatest shooter of all time, Steph, is having another phenomenal year. He is also leading the Dubs to another dominant season. Although, he is having a shooting slump just after breaking the three-point record (previously held by Ray Allen).

He has not been his usual self, but the Warriors are sitting in a 42-15 standing, just right behind the Suns. With averages of 25.7 PPG, 6.5 APG, and 4.6 RPG, Steph is making a case in the MVP talks. Stephen Curry was the first unanimous MVP back in 2016.
