Squanch squanch! Rick and Morty season 7’s official trailer just dropped and everyone is going nuts. After months of the Justin Roiland drama, were finally getting another season of Rick and Morty. But, who had just replaced Roiland as the voice actor of the show’s main characters?
Wubba Luba Dub-Dub! Rick and Morty back for another schwifty adventure in season 7
The adventurous grandfather-grandson duo of Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith is just days away from returning to the screen. Adult Swim, the studio behind the Emmy-winning TV series Rick and Morty, just released an official trailer for season 7. In addition, the new voice of the main cast, Rick and Morty, was also revealed in the trailer. Check the video below.

Adult Swim also released a promotional announcement which gives a nod to the new voice actors while also hinting that Rick and Morty will run for at least 10 seasons.
“Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: What’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. Rick and Morty, 100 years! Or at least until season 10!”
Who are the new voice actors for Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith?
To everyone’s surprise, Rick and Morty’s new voice actors sound very similar to Justin Roiland. Roiland voiced both Rick and Morty as well as some side characters in the show. The animator is also the voice behind Hulu’s Polar Opposites. It’s worth remembering that Roiland, the show’s co-creator, was fired by Adult Swim and Hulu after being charged with a domestic violence case and more. Despite the charges eventually being dropped, Justin Roiland was still removed from the company.
On the other hand, Adult Swim found Roiland’s replacement and it was a great fit.
Actually, the studio hired two different actors for Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith. However, they aren’t sharing the identities of the actors yet.
“We want the show to speak for itself,” explained an Adult Swim insider. “We believe in the strength of the season and our new voices and we want to preserve the viewing experience for fans.”
In an article we made in January, we discussed who could possibly replace Justin Roiland. Arguably the best choice we have is not an actor or a professional voice actor, but a TikToker and an impressionist, Sean Kelly (seankellysays). Almost everybody is already rooting for Sean to step into the shoes of Rick and Morty. Truthfully, he can completely copy the original voices. If you haven’t heard his Rick and Morty (and other characters like Mr. Meeseeks) impressions yet, you have to get into his TikTok account. Who knows, maybe he really is the new voice of Rick and Morty!

Fans react to the new voices in Season 7
Right after the official trailer for Rick and Morty season 7 was dropped, fans and pundits stormed the internet to share their reactions. Mostly, people believed nothing much has changed with regards to the new actors. Fans think that they’re very close to the original and the resemblance is uncanny. However, Rick’s voice seems a bit off some times. On the contrary, Morty’s new voice is still spot on. Season 7 is slated to be released on October 5, 2023.
