Catherine Camilon has remained missing since her sudden disappearance on October 12, 2023. Her family has been asking for help since then, and the investigation continues. Though the leads to her whereabouts remain unknown, two alleged witnesses saw the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate bloodied while being carried by three people from her vehicle.
Two Witnesses Allegedly Saw Catherine Camilon
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), which leads the investigation, dropped the latest update about Catherine Camilon’s case. In an interview with GMA News, CIDG director Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. said that two witnesses came forward and claimed they saw the 26-year-old in a vacant lot in Bauan, Batangas, with blood in her head and being transferred from her vehicle to another.
However, the men who were said to be carrying Camilon saw them and asked them to leave at gunpoint. The guy who allegedly pointed a gun at them was said to be the personal driver of another person of interest.
“Very obvious na doon sa sasakyan, nakitang duguan ‘yung ulo ng biktima natin. It’s either hinampas ng baril or binaril doon mismo sa loob ng sasakyan,” he said.
(It was very obvious that Camilon’s head was seen bloodied in the car. It’s either she was hit by a gun or shot inside the vehicle.)
According to reports, a police major and a man from Binangonan, Rizal, who last owned the vehicle Camilon was using, serve as the persons of interest in this case. The said police official is reportedly in the custody of Camp Vicente Lim’s regional personnel holding and accounting unit. The police POI is said to be Camilon’s boyfriend and whom she was supposed to meet when she suddenly disappeared.
The CIDG sees the love angle as the possible motive for the crime.
“Quarrel among this victim at saka and yung (and the) suspect and allegedly, and it is an open secret that they have love relationship,” Caramat added.

Significant Progress in Catherine Camilon’s Case
This news comes after Philippine National Police (PNP) Gen. Benjamin Acorda, Jr. claimed there’s “significant progress” happening in the investigation of Catherine Camilon’s case.
“May mga development na sinubmit ang ating CIDG, maganda naman… I hope yung mga perpetrators mag-isip-isip, sana sumuko na to mitigate their offense. Medyo maganda na direksyon ng investigation,” Acorda said.
(The CIDG has submitted some developments. It’s good. I hope the perpetrators will think to surrender to mitigate their offense. The investigation is now going in quite a good direction.)
“There is some significant progress on the investigation; that’s why I am appealing now those who are involved sana sumuko na (to surrender),” he continued.
What is Catherine Camilon’s Status?
Aside from Catherine Camilon’s whereabouts, many also want to know her status. However, Acorda couldn’t give any update about Camilon’s condition, not knowing if she was still alive.
“Buhay pa ba siya or [ano] status? I don’t want to give kuwan muna kasi it might affect the feelings of the family. Mas maganda we think positively muna,” Acorda explained.
(Is she still alive, or what’s her status? I don’t want to give anything as it might affect the family’s feelings. It’s much better if we think positively first.)

Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A has also filed cases of carnapping and estafa against the last registered owner of the vehicle for giving a wrong name and address in the car’s deed of sale. The police major reportedly gave the said vehicle to Camilon.
Alternatively, PNP 4-A’s PIO chief, Police Lt. Col. Chitadel Gaoira, revealed that the police POI is “cooperative” in the investigation.
“Yes, nakikipag cooperate naman yung ating POI at yun nandito siya sa admin holding ng regional office at cooperative naman siya,” he said.
(Yes, our POI has been cooperative, and he’s in the admin holding of the regional office and he’s cooperative.)
However, he’s yet to disclose any leads to Camilon’s whereabouts.

(He has yet to say anything about Camilon’s whereabouts. For now, the investigation team has been asking the POI for general information.)
A P250,000 reward will be given to anyone who can provide information about Camilon’s whereabouts. As the investigation continues, Camilon’s friends, loved ones, and family can’t wish anything but to see her again.
