Upcoming AAA Alien game soon? Rumor or true?

A new rumor is spreading like wildfire in the gaming community. According to Insider Gaming, an anonymous source provided them with information about a new game that’s coming soon. The source claims that the upcoming game will be an AAA survival-horror game set in the world of the Alien film franchise. Of course, this has us asking the question: is this rumor true? Will there be a new Alien game from a AAA studio?

Will we get a new Alien game from a AAA studio soon?

It definitely has been a while since we last got a video game from the Alien film franchise. When the hype was still there for the Alien films, a handful of games were released over the years.

• The most notable game from the film was Alien: Isolation. But because of how poorly received Aliens: Colonial Marines was, it kind of tainted people’s initial thoughts about Alien: Isolation
• But despite all that, a lot of survival-horror fanatics recognize that Alien: Isolation is definitely a great game. Aside from great gameplay mechanics, it was able to tap into the horror that the original Alien films gave its audience

• And who are we kidding? Survival-horror games are definitely a great way to test your limits when it comes to how brave and tough you think you are. To this day, we can still hear the sound of the Xenomorph’s footsteps from a mile away as it hunts us down…

A report from Insider Gaming claims that a new Alien game is coming soon

An anonymous source approached Insider Gaming with information about an Alien game being developed by a AAA studio. Although the information appears to be credible because it included things like concept art, the source shied away from revealing who the developer is.

• Let’s admit it: we all want a sequel to Alien: Isolation. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case this time around. According to the anonymous source, the upcoming project is an entirely new game
• The upcoming Alien game is called “Marathon”. It will be available for consoles in the current generation once holiday season in 2023 comes around
• The game will be inspired by the Dead Space and Resident Evil franchises. Fingers crossed that it will give us the scare of a lifetime!

A sequel to Alien: Isolation may still happen

Although we are more than excited to get a new Alien game, there’s still the lingering feeling of wanting a sequel to Isolation. Thankfully, the source claims that this may still happen but for now, all focus is on codename “Marathon”.

• Creative Assembly may return to take charge of this project, according to Insider Gaming. However, they were unable to verify these claims after reaching out to the team

• There’s a possibility that the sequel is one of the unnamed projects Creative Assembly is working on, according to their Twitter profile

For now, all of these are considered RUMORS until proven or verified by the AAA developer themselves.
