After Twitch launched its ‘Boost Train’ feature, some users saw an opportunity to troll the live streaming platform. Apparently, porn streams started showing up on the streaming service’s front page. Following this blunder, Twitch suspended their ‘Boost Train’ feature indefinitely. Read on to find out more.
Viewers start trolling by paying to boost streams featuring p*rn
Dot Esports and PC Gamer were the first to report on what was happening to Twitch’s front page. On March 30th, some users took to Twitter and Reddit to share that there were unusual streams recommended to them by Twitch.
The videos in question featured porn and popped up in the “Live channels we think you’ll like” category. Twitch is known for having strict guidelines related to pornographic material. But an explanation to why Twitch let these videos reach the front page was because people paid actual money to boost these streams.

Although we can’t feature one of the tweets talking about this accident, you can always check it out here.
After the mishap was brought to Twitch’s attention, they temporarily pulled the ‘Boost Train’ feature. It’s likely because more and more trolls are using it to boost porn streams onto the front page.
What is ‘Boost Train’?
Although it’s “still experimental”, what the Boost Train essentially does is viewers can promote their favorite streams. To do this, they’d have to purchase subscriptions and Twitch Bits to whoever streamer they want to boost.
