Well, no wonder TWICE would go skyrocketing the charts with this release. Even with its teasers, we know it would be a bop. “I guarantee, I gotcha”, and we get it, they knew they’d be getting the charts once again.
- The following day of its release, it debuted on the U.S. Spotify Top Songs chart at number 39. Instantly, MOONLIGHT SUNRISE became TWICE’s new career-high in the United States. Not just that though, it’s probably the whole world listening to it that it ranked 60 on the Global Top Songs chart.
- But wait, there’s more! Yesterday, January 22nd, the MOONLIGHT SUNRISE craze topped around 33 regions around the globe in the iTunes Top Songs chart. It debuted at #2 in the U.S. which makes it TWICE’s highest-charting song in the United States at this moment.
Who wrote TWICE’s MOONLIGHT SUNRISE?
With all the charts and popularity, there’s this question that remains: who wrote and who’s behind this crazy, addictive song?
- MOONLIGHT SUNRISE came from the words, and composition of the hitmaker earattack, 이우현 (Lee Woo Hyeon), alongside Citizen Queen’s Nina Ann Nelson, and Kaedi Dalley. The song was arranged by ear attack and Lee Woo Hyeon, respectively.
- Furthermore, the song may be the perfect blend of flirtatious and heart-fluttering lyrics matched with the voices of the TWICE members. We seriously can’t get enough of how each of the members’ voices sounds so heavenly in the song. The music video screams the dreamy and dance-pop vibe that would make you want to throw it back to your youth.

- Of course, Mina and Nayeon singing the lines with the Tequila Sunrise had everyone drunk even though we were alcohol-free. The subtle flirting with the analogies *definitely* held ONCEs hostages of their bubbly and endearing song. What’s next for the girl group?
Speaking of youth, TWICE gears to release their 12th mini album entitled “Our Youth”. The EP is slated to drop on March 2023.
- Furthermore, the Japanese members, Mina, Sana, and Momo, popularly known as MiSaMo are rumored to debut as a sub-unit trio. No further details have been set out about this, but we hope it would come out this year!
- TWICE has been actively releasing singles and albums yearly, so if you want to stan them, it’s never too late! The nine-member girl group consists of Im Nayeon, Yoo Jeongyeon, Hirai Momo, Minatozaki Sana, Park Jihyo, Myoui Mina, Kim Dahyun, Son Chaeyoung, and Chou Tzuyu.
