Top 4 Fan-Favorite Music Show MCs In The K-pop Industry | Ranked

Aside from comebacks and debuts in the K-pop industry, music show MCs are what fans look forward to. These duos or trios keep the daily music shows lively and fun, may it be for their friendly banters or awkward interactions. So, let us list down the top four fan-favorite music show MCs that are on top of our heads that kept fans wishing to see more of the friendship between the two (or three!)

Who Are The Current Music Show MCs?

More duos and trios have been keeping the K-pop music shows and its audience in company during the program. As of this writing, here are the respective music show MCs of the popular programs in South Korea.

  • INKIGAYO: TXT Yeonjun, BOYNEXTDOOR WOONHAK, Actress Park Jihu
  • MCOUNTDOWN: ZEROBASEONE Hanbin, BOYNEXTDOOR Jaehyun, RIIZE Sohee
  • Music Bank: Actor Lee Chae Min, LE SSERAFIM Eunchae
  • Show! Music Core: NMIXX Sullyoon, THE BOYZ Younghoon, Actor Lee Jungha
  • The Show: ATEEZ Yeosang, NCT Xiaojun, TEMPEST Hyeongseop
  • Show Champion: BILLLIE Tsuki and Moon Sua, woo!ah! Nana (until November 2023)

And with that, shall we start to list down the fan favorites that we noticed on social media? We’re pretty sure that you know all of them, especially if you have been a K-pop fan since 2016.

4) Actor Park Bogum and RED VELVET Irene

Whether you caught their music show MCs stint or not, Bogum and Irene were undoubtedly one of the fan favorites. It’s inevitable for K-pop fans not to be familiar with Irene’s prank in front of the camera that literally had Bogum worried at the time. The RED VELVET member just fell to her knees, and the actor’s reaction says it all (mind you, he managed to pull it off despite being heavily concerned for Irene). Yes, Irene did this live on national television, too!

It was April Fools’ Day at that time, but the prank did effectively work. The two hosted Music Bank way back in 2015-ish and viewers really had a treat because of their stunning visuals. They probably remained friends (we genuinely hope) because of how comfortable they were with their interactions way back.

3) GOT7 Jinyoung, BLACKPINK Jisoo, NCT Doyoung

Who else remembers JinJiDo? This trio will remain as one, if not the most iconic music show MCs in the K-pop industry since 2017. Each idol came from the respective Big 3 way back — Jinyoung from JYP, Jisoo from YG, and Doyoung from SM. Their nickname, JinJiDo with their high-five or showing their mics gestures probably are the most unforgettable cuteness of the three.

Their friendship still strives up to this day! Jinyoung had been interacting with the two separately, and we can’t help but miss their music show MC days in Inkigayo. They have been supporting each other in their various releases; we saw Jinyoung and Jisoo interact on Instagram, while he and Doyoung were together in a dance challenge. JinJiDo reunion soon, please!

2) ENHYPEN Sunghoon and IVE Wonyoung

Their most recent dance challenge video gave us the idea to write about this article! JangKku had ENGENEs and DIVEs squealing yesterday after ENHYPEN TikTok dropped a Sweet Venom dance challenge on January 8. Currently, it garnered over 8 million views and 2.1 million likes in just a day.

The two became the music show MCs for Music Bank in 2021. Since their MC duties finished, fans have been wanting the two to reunite — and a TikTok video it is! The JangKku nickname came from the duo, which originates from Wonyoung’s last name Jang, and Sunghoon’s nickname Baekgu, and to add a little bit of twist, they used gu and changed it to kku.

1) TXT Soobin and OH MY GIRL Arin

To top off this fan-favorite music show MCs list, we think many will agree that the AkKong pair was one of the best! The bond between Soobin and Arin is there, they became comfortable with one another, which even led to some backlash, but their undeniable chemistry remained. They started hosting Music Bank in 2020, and yes, before the JangKku pair MC-ed.

Until now, the two had been sharing dance challenges, photos when they were together, or just random TikTok videos. The two did become close friends, and fans have always loved the great friendship between the AkKong MCs. Will we see more of them in the future? Oh, we sure hope so!

There are more MCs that could change this list soon, just like the brother-sister-coded Chae Min and Eun Chae. How about you? Who are your favorite music show MCs in the K-pop industry? Share them with us below!
