Fans have been speculating on social media whether Ben is still alive. So the question is, is he? Here’s what we know so far.

The third season of the Umbrella Academy is now streaming on Netflix (released on June 22) which has a total of 10 episodes.
Even just after one day of its release, fans have already binge-watched the entire season. It led them into the season finale which got them wondering a lot, especially with Ben (Justin H. Min).
Umbrella Academy – What happened to Ben?
In the mid-post credit scene of the last episode of Season 3, the fans weren’t expecting Ben to show up.
It showed that Ben is sitting in a subway in South Korea. He is wearing a suit and glasses while trying to read a certain book. Then he looked at the window and innocently smiled a bit.
But what made it buzz to the fans if it is the original Ben and not the Sparrow Ben? Since just a little smile is something Sparrow Ben would not often do.
Theories have already come up online.
Here are some theories discussed by the fans.
- Ben may not be alive anymore, it may be only another copy of him. Not the original and not the Sparrow version of him.
- It could be the original Ben, still alive and well in South Korea as a normal citizen.
- The original Ben being alive and living in South Korea could mean Sir Reginald Hargreeves have never adopted him in the first place.
- It could be original Ben but may not be the same as seen in the previous seasons.
With all of these theories combined, it’s only safe to assume that a certain ‘Ben’ is alive. Until there’s no confirmation yet if it’s the Sparrow Ben or the original Ben.
Is there an Umbrella Academy 4th season?
We can only know the answer to the theories if there’s a new season for the show to continue its story. Since Netflix hasn’t officially announced yet if Umbrella Academy is going to have a 4th season.
But with the show’s popularity, the hopes are high for a new season. Let’s just wait for a further announcement on their official social media accounts.
