The world’s biggest annual Dota 2 championship is back. Like last year, FACEIT is ready to host the Open Qualifiers for The International. But this year they haven’t got just 1 Open Qualifier for you, but 2.
Last year, Valve introduced Open Qualifiers for The International 5 in association with the leading competitive gaming platform FACEIT. Teams from all around the world had their chances to participate in the Open Qualifiers based on their region: South East Asia, Europe or the Americas; to fight for a position in The International 5 and make their dreams come true.
The same things are going around this year but not just with 1, but 2 Open Qualifiers. Which means if you fail to show good performance in the first OQ, you always have the second chance.
The 1st Open Qualifiers will start on 21st June (Day 1) and will end the next day i.e. 22nd June (Day 2). The 2nd Open Qualifiers will start on 23rd June (Day 1) and will come to an end on 24th June (Day 2).
Schedule
1st Open Qualifier, Day 1 – 21st June
- SEA – Check-in: 1:30 PM, Start time: 3:30 PM – JOIN HERE
- Europe – Check-in: 7:30 PM, Start time: 9:30 PM – JOIN HERE
- Americas – Check-in: 2:30 AM, Start time: 4:30 AM – JOIN HERE
Rounds played: Round of 1024 (BO1), Round of 512 (BO1), Round of 256 (BO1), Round of 128 (BO1), Round of 64 (BO1), Round of 32 (BO1)
Teams that didn’t sign up on time and solo players, will be able to sign-up 30 minutes before the tournament starts if there are available slots left.
All teams will be able to register five players and two stand-ins which they will be able to use in the Closed Qualifiers. Each team will only be able to use five selected players throughout the Open Qualifiers.
1st Open Qualifier, Day 2 – 22nd June
- SEA – Start time: 3:30 PM
- Europe – Start time: 9:30 PM
- Americas – Start time: 4:30 AM
Rounds played: Round of 16 (BO1). Round of 8 (BO1), Semi-Finals (BO3), Finals (BO3).
2nd Open Qualifier, Day 1 – 23rd June
- SEA – Check-in: 1:30 PM, Start time: 3:30 PM – JOIN HERE
- Europe – Check-in: 7:30 PM, Start time: 9:30 PM – JOIN HERE
- Americas – Check-in: 2:30 AM, Start time: 4:30 AM – JOIN HERE
