Navigating the complex world of Shin Megami Tensei V can be a daunting task, especially when you’re hunting down every Miman in the Hamamatsucho area. But don’t worry. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the saga, this walkthrough will enhance your gameplay experience and make sure you don’t miss any critical details.

Hamamatsucho is one of the many intricate locations you’ll explore in Shin Megami Tensei V. This area is packed with hidden treasures, challenging demons, and crucial subquests that will test your skill and strategy. In this guide, we’ll take you through every corner of Hamamatsucho, ensuring you find all Miman and complete all objectives.

Southeast of the Leyline Fount

Start by checking the immediate southeast of the Leyline Fount. Speak with Amanozako, who reveals a Magatsu Rail. This rail leads to another Magatsu Rail, taking you to a high rooftop that was previously inaccessible, where you’ll encounter an Onmoraki.

  • On this rooftop, you’ll meet Nyami Nyami, who offers you the “Knocking on Death’s Door” subquest.
  • Continue heading southeast from the Leyline Fount to find Tzitzimitl, who gives you the “She Who Rules the Night” subquest. It’s advisable to explore the surrounding area fully before attempting this quest.
  • In the same southeast direction, you’ll find an Abscess. Demons will start chasing you as you approach. Avoid them and head straight for the Abscess, initiating a battle upon arrival.

The Mermaid Battle

  • The Abscess contains only one opponent—a powerful Mermaid. She can make your battle frustrating with her Stormcaller’s Song, which deals 3-6 weak Ice attacks to a single target, and Marin Karin, which inflicts Charm.
  • The Mermaid is weak to Fire and Electric attacks. Utilize a magic-based Nahobino and Yoko to rack up extra Press Turns. Other demons with Agi or Zio are also recommended, but be cautious of any Ice weaknesses in your team.

Fight or Ignore Agathion?

Continue southeast to encounter Agathion enemies on the train tracks. You can choose to fight or ignore them.

  • Next, head towards the ruined building and go to the bottom to find a Slime. Talk to it to receive the Foul Talisman, which allows all Foul-race demons to use the Omagatoki: Potential Magatsuhi skill. Don’t forget to check out the vending machines south of the Slime.
  • Head northeast of the Slime to find a stairway. Upon reaching the third level, step off to reach an Amalgam for another 50 Glory.
  • Return to the stairs and continue to the top floor to open a treasure chest containing Mandrake’s Essence x1.

Miman #14

  • After opening the chest, look down over the area northwest of the chest. You’ll see Miman #14 standing on a broken part of the floor. Drop down to reach them.

Return to the Hamamatsucho Leyline Fount and head southwest under the highway. This path leads to a watery location. Run past the Peallaidh enemies to the southwest end, where you’ll find a Mermaid and a treasure chest containing Chakra Drop x2. The Mermaid offers you the “The Cursed Mermaids” subquest. Don’t miss the vending machines in the southeast, just before the turn.

From the Leyline Fount, head northeast through a narrow path leading into a cave. Avoid running inside to dodge the Daemons hanging around. Go all the way northeast to find two treasure chests. The northern chest contains Daemon’s Essence x1, while the southern chest holds Grimoire x2.

Head back to the Hamamatsucho Leyline Fount and go southwest, this time onto the highway. An Agathion on the highway will give you the “Bully Breaker” subquest.

Miman #15

  • Check your map when you reach the Agathion that gives you the subquest. Head southeast of the Agathion on your map or west on the overworld. You’ll see Miman #15 sitting near a rock.

Continue up the highway for a brief scene where the Tokyo Tower demon reacts. Amanozako informs you that the demon breathes fire and uses poison. This is an early hint to have Fire resistance and Poison cures in your party.

Keep going along the highway, talking to the Onmoraki if you like. At the end of the highway, check your map and head southwest, past Sandman and Peallaidh enemies. There’s a climbing block that leads to an Aogami Husk, giving you the Aogami Type-1 Essence.

Miman #16

  • After picking up the Aogami Type-1 Essence, check your map and head east. You should be standing before the edge of the waterfall. Look down, and you’ll see Miman #16 on a small ledge. Position yourself and drop down to collect them.

From the Aogami Type-1 Essence, go northeast on the map until you see another highway going upwards. Fight or dodge the Sandman enemies in the area and walk up the rocks to reach two treasure chests. The left chest contains Azumi’s Essence x1, and the right chest has Ice Gem x3.

Miman #17

  • After grabbing the two treasure chests, check your map and drop down towards the southeast corner to find Miman #17 hiding behind a rock.

Go back down the highway and continue northeast past more Sandman enemies. Follow the trail of green and yellow Magatsuhi. When the trail ends, turn left to find a Miman. Keep going northeast, and you’ll see three Climbing Points in the distance. Jump on some rocks to reach them, then climb to the top to find a treasure chest with Kodama’s Essence x1.

Miman #18

  • When the Magatsuhi trail ends, turn left to find Miman #18 hiding behind a rock.

Check your map and head west of the Climbing Points to find a Magatsu Rail. After dealing with the Zhu Tun She enemies, there are two treasure chests. The left chest contains Zhu Tun She’s Essence x1, and the right chest holds Unicorn’s Essence x1.

Take the Magatsu Rail back and head southwest on the map, traveling up the ramp. You should see a Mandrake with a subquest icon. Talk to them to receive the “Pollution Panic” subquest.

Miman #19

  • Regardless of whether you talk to the Mandrake subquest giver, turn around to find Miman #19 cowering behind a rock.

Continue slightly southeast of the Mandrake on the map, and Amanozako will point out a hidden Magatsu Rail. This rail leads to another rail that brings you back to the Hamamatsucho Leyline Fount. This is a great pit stop for resting or fusing your demons.

Check your map to see an Abscess southwest of the Magatsu Rail. It isn’t mandatory, but it provides helpful Miracles and frees up an area for items. Run towards the Abscess and dodge the enemies for a battle.

This Abscess has two Sudama enemies. They aren’t dangerous but do have Mazan to hit the entire party with Force damage. Sudamas are weak to Fire and Ice and nullify Force. Bring your best Fire and Ice users to the battle. Yoko has Agi by default, which is useful. Levelling up a Daemon or Sandman gets you Agi and Bufu, respectively. You might also fuse more powerful demons to get those skills.

Final Treasures and Subquests

After clearing the Abscess, head west on the map but look at the north area above the river. There’s a Climbing Point that lets you reach a treasure chest containing Gold Card x1.

Miman #20

  • Head southwest of the Climbing Point that led to the Gold Card. Search along the river to find Miman #20 drinking from it.

Head west along the river until you reach the end. You’ll find Leanan Sidhe next to an Ippon-Datara. Speak to Leanan Sidhe to start “The Water Nymph” subquest.

Locating Miman #21

  • Look behind Leanan Sidhe’s position to find Miman #21 behind a rock.

Head east from Leanan Sidhe and continue north on the map. This leads you to the Tokyo Tower Leyline Fount. Now is a good time to rest and save, fusing more powerful demons if possible. If there are any subquests you need to complete, finish as many as you can before proceeding.
