The Last of Us fans, brace yourselves! The famous video game “The Last of Us” is finally getting a TV adaptation. The post-apocalyptic game series will be getting its standalone TV series via HBO.
It was planned to be released back in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it was postponed. News is spreading that it will debut early in 2023.
“It’s not going to air in 2022,” Bloys told Deadline. “They are still shooting in Canada. I imagine you will see it in ’23.” – HBO chief content officer Casey Bloys interview with Deadline

They have already started taping for the show and it already looks amazing! Apart from the confirmation of the year of release, there are also leaks of the cast who will be playing the beloved characters of “The Last of Us”
In the beginning, it was already confirmed Joel will be portrayed by great Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Kingsman 2, The Mandalorian), while Ellie will be played by Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones, Judy).

But, there have recently been leaks of the appearance of Sam and Henry (and who will portray these characters).
Pictures and footage suggest that Lamar Johnson is already part of the production and will portray the 25-year-old Henry. Johnson is a Canadian actor who was famous for acting as Match in the 2019 movie, X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

On the other hand, the actor who will play Henry’s younger brother, Sam, is obscured in the photo. It is not yet clear who will portray the 13-year-old boy in this show.
We all know what happened to Sam and Henry in the game’s lore. We don’t want to spoil those who have not played the game yet, but, it sure wasn’t good. Hopefully, the writers of the show change it a bit.
