Battinson is all set to arrive with his first Batman film and DC is now maximizing its marketing efforts. The Batman is first DC film to come out in 2022 but is not a part of the DCEU yet. This standalone Batman film is directed by Matt Reeves (Planet of the Apes and Cloverfield series) and stars Robert Pattinson as DC’s iconic character.
The Batman Runtime and Release Date
Matt Reeves’ The Batman is all set to release on March 4, 2022, which is just over a month away now. So, the hype is real! The official runtime for The Batman has just been revealed by WB and DC which stands at a hefty 175 minutes or 2 hours and 55 minutes. With almost 3 hours of runtime, The Batman is the longest solo Batman movie in the history.
Previously, The Dark Knight Rises was the longest Batman solo film with 2h 35m of runtime. The longest superhero film as well as the longest film featuring Batman is Zack Snyder’s Justice League with 4h 2m of runtime. The Batman (2022) is the third longest superhero film after the above-mentioned ZSJL and Avengers: Endgame, which stands at 3h 2m.
So yes, The Batman is going to be a long detective style film but don’t worry as this duration also includes the credits. Here’s to hoping that the film doesn’t disappoint us all and manages to recapture the magic of Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.
The Batman Theme by Michael Giacchino
The full 6 minutes and 47 seconds long “The Batman” theme was officially revealed today. We heard some of it in the trailers as well but here’s the final mind-blowing piece of composition. Enjoy!
The score of the film has been composed by the Oscar winning composer, Michael Giacchino. He has a long list of amazing compositions from Up and Ratatouille to War for the Planet of the Apes and Jojo Rabbit. Giacchino is also the man behind Star Trek series, Jurassic World series and Mission Impossible III.
He has composed score for a lot of Marvel superhero films including Doctor Strange, Spider-man: Homecoming. Spider-man: Far From Home, and Spider-man: No Way Home. Apart from that, he is currently also composing the score for Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. His other superhero genre compositions include The Incredibles series.
