Who knew that this whisky brand has been operating for many years now? Banayad Whisky has been using the likeness and image of the late Dolphy, which led to a legal battle between the Quizons and the company. Eric Quizon and Quizon family files a case against Banayad Whisky after failing to stop production of the beverage with an image of the legendary Dolphy Quizon
One of Dolphy’s 18 children, Eric Quizon, represented his family in an ongoing lawsuit against Banayad Whisky. In his Instagram, Eric released an official post of “Notice to the Public”, informing the public to be wary of Banayad Whisky. “This serves as a warning to all. This bootleg seller is using my dad’s image and Banayad Whisky, which are patented and with copyrights.”, Eric Quizon commented on his post.
“Furthermore, they are not registered with BFAD. At first, they cooperated with us but stop communicating when the Quizons demanded them to stop selling. We have filed a case against. Please BEWARE!”, Quizon added.

Earlier this year, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an official statement to urge the public to refrain from buying Banayad Whisky
On their official website, FDA released a public health warning regarding the unregistered product. The FDA claims that Banayad Whisky is operating without a license. Additionally, the company is facing a lawsuit for making Mr. Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr. (Dolphy) an affiliate, an association that is not recognized by the late Dolphy’s family.
“The public is hereby advised to refrain from buying the product being sold online through social media by “Banayad Whisky Ko” and their website at https://thebanayad.com/.”

Truly, the current case between the Quizons and Banayad Whisky is not a joke. But, everyone may remember this liquor brand as part of one of Dolphy’s most beloved movies.
