Eras Tour: Taylor Swift changes ‘Karma’ lyrics for Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift Karma Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift wowed fans at her second Eras Tour concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, when she decided to make a romantic gesture towards her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The 33-year-old pop icon gave a playful twist to the lyrics of her song ‘Karma’ with a reference to the NFL player. Let’s take a look at what she did and more highlights from her Eras Tour concert in Buenos Aires.

Karma’s original and changed lyrics, explained

For those who don’t know, Karma is a hit song from Taylor Swift’s Midnights album which dropped in 2022. In the original song, the line goes “Karma is the guy on the screen running straight home to me.” Interestingly, the line was a nod to her then-boyfriend and actor Joe Alwyn.

However, the singer-songwriter decided to tweak the lyrics to suit her present beau Travis Kelce who was also cheering for her at the concert in Buenos Aires. Swift changed the lyrics and sang “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me”, referring to the Kansas City Chiefs player.

Taylor Swift’s PDA with Travis Kelce

The NFL player watched his ladylove perform from the VIP tent alongside her father, Scott Swift. Pictures and videos of Kelce dancing, cheering for Swift and flashing her signature heart hand symbol, went viral on social media platforms.

But the highlight of their interactions that night happened after the concert when a visibly excited Taylor Swift ran up to Travis Kelce and kissed him publicly. Their PDA, along with the changed ‘Karma’ lyrics, virtually takes their relationship to another level in the eyes of Swifties.

During the concert, the singer sang ‘End Game’ directed towards Kelce in the crowd, especially with the lines: “I want to be your end game. I want to be your first string. I want to be your A team.”

Other highlights from the Buenos Aires concert

Apart from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s chemistry which stole the show, the Eras Tour concert had its fair share of memorable moments with music too. The acoustic set featured interesting variations of “Is It Over Now?” and “Out of the Woods”. Swifties even danced in circles to ‘Willow’.

The ‘Blank Space’ singer celebrated her recent record-breaking Grammy nominations with her fans and thanked them. She also acknowledged their role in helping the ‘Taylor’s Versions’ of her older songs dominate the music charts again and joining her quest to reclaim her music.

The Buenos Aires concert saw some significant hurdles due to bad weather but Taylor Swift made sure her fans were able to attend the rescheduled shows without any difficulty.
