Spice and Wolf anime is returning to the fans. The official announcement was made along with a release schedule and the first trailer for the anime. The return has filled fans with nostalgia. A sequel to the original was expected but the anime is returning as a remake adaptation.Â

Spice and Wolf anime: What is it about?
Lawrence is a 25-year-old traveling merchant who makes his living by trading goods from different places. He wants to save up enough to start his shop. One night, he finds Holo in his wagon. Holo is the wolf-deity responsible for a good harvest in the town of Pasloe.
Over the years, the townsmen have started to brush off Holo due to the bad harvests occasionally. After some convincing, Lawrence agrees to have Holo as a companion for his travels. Accompanied by the wise wolf girl, he starts to get increased profits but also some trouble from the Church.Â

The 15th-anniversary celebration of the series brought good news along with it. It has been confirmed that the anime is set to release sometime next year, that is 2024. With scarce details about the project as of yet, there’s no confirmation about a specific date.

The announcement of the release schedule was accompanied by the PV. It is both nostalgic and new. The teaser features the introductory scene of Holo, the banter-filled dynamics shared by the central duo, and light-hearted music. The dialogue exchange between the two at the end of the PV makes one reminiscent of the original adaptation.Â
Everything we know so far
Once again Takeo Takahashi will be taking the direction into his hands. He was also in charge of the previous adaptation’s direction. He’ll be taking over as the chief director. Studio Passione is at the helm of the animation production of the series.
One of the things that stood out about the PV was the music. Kevin Penkin will be taking the musical lead. His previous works include Made in Abyss and Rising of The Shield Hero. Having Jun Fukuyama and Ami Koshimizu return as the voice actors is one of the best updates about the project so far.

The travels of Lawrence, the quiet merchant, and Holo, the wise wolf will continue in 2024. The remake adaptation will bring in new fans while serving the old ones with new Spice and Wolf content.
