EuroBasket2022 has recently concluded! Who were you rooting for, Spain or France? Nonetheless, we’re congratulating both teams for a great run this season. Huge congratulations to the Spain champs for winning over France in the EuroBasket 2022 tournament! This is the fourth time Spain is bagging the gold in the tournament. They were able to win gold in 2009, 2011, 2015, and this year, 2022. And have you heard of the Finals MVP? It’s no other than the NBA and Netflix star, Juancho Hernangomez.
Spain’s Juancho Hernangomez a.k.a Bo Cruz took the lead of his team and the EuroBasket championship match this year. Oh, it feels like watching a sequel of a film as he definitely bagged the lead role in this game. They defeated France, 88-76 at the Mercedez Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany.
EuroBasket 2022 Finals
He deserves that Most Valuable Player of the Finals award. In case you missed it, Hernangomez took home the title and gave his team the award. Scoring 27 points, seven three-pointers, tallying six straight threes in a 10-minute run to cap the game, he was able to be the MVP and bring the title home.
- The NBA star played alongside his brother, Willy Hernangomez from the New Orleans Pelicans, marking 14 points on the board and eight rebounds. He took home the Most Valuable Player award for the season with an average of 17.2 PPG and 6.9 RPG.

- Spain’s Lorenzo Brown finished with 14 points and 11 assists. He joins Willy and other players in the All-Tournament Team. The best five include Rudy Gobert (France), Dennis Schroder (Germany), and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece).
What’s next for Juancho Hernangomez?
As fans call him today because of his stint in Adam Sandler’s film, Hustle, Bo Cruz signs up with Toronto Raptors last July 2022. The 26-year-old free agent joins the Raptors for a one-year contract in the NBA. Will we see him transfer again to a new team? Or will he find a home and be a perfect fit for Toronto? Let’s wait for the next season of NBA starting this October!

- Hmm, can we expect another film ahead of him? No news for that yet, but Bo Cruz can fit another role if he wishes to. And fans would love that!

His career
Juancho Hernangomez started his NBA career in 2016 with the Denver Nuggets and then jumped from one team to another in the following years and seasons.
- He was part of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 19-20 season. He jumped to another team as he was dealt once again to a new team, Memphis Grizzlies in the 2020-2021 season. In the off-season, he was traded to another team, the Boston Celtics.

- Hernangomez started this 2021-22 season with the Celtics, tallying 18 games with the team until he was traded off to the San Antonio Spurs. Utah Jazz welcomed him via trade after running five ball games with the Spurs.
- Unfortunately, Jazz waived him on June 30th. And if the numbers are right, the Raptors would be his seventh team in his six years of playing in the NBA.
- After his spectacular performance in the EuroBasket 2022, we’re pretty sure Toronto Raptors feel satisfied and excited for what ‘Bo Cruz’ would offer them next season. If (most probably) he’s coming off the bench, he will surely find a way to score and rebound, but the question is, will he find his way to join the starters of the Raptors?
- With this kind of play (though he needs the consistency), I’m sure fans would continue to expect more drive from this basketball court and big screen star. Let’s watch out for him in the future!
