In a recent announcement from Sony, they revealed the release dates for the new PlayStation Plus subscription. According to Sony, they will roll out the new subscription plan per region. Moreover, it will be available in Asia markets first. However, Japan will not be part of the Asia release date for the PlayStation Plus subscription. Read on to find out more.
Asia markets will be the first to try out Sony’s new subscription
The release date for Asia markets is on May 23, 2022. This makes the region the first to try out the new PlayStation Plus subscription which has a lot of wonderful features that make it worth it. For Japan, they can avail of the new PlayStation Plus subscription starting June 1. Afterwards, the plan will be made available to the Americas on June 13 and it will be followed by Europe on June 22.
According to the official blog post from PlayStation, they’re also looking to expand their cloud streaming access to the following areas:

Additionally, Sony is offering the Premium tier of the new PlayStation Plus to the areas mentioned.
The Premium Tier of the PlayStation Plus subscription includes a library of over 700 games
Sony is merging both its PS Plus and PS Now subscriptions in this new service. But to give players the freedom to choose what kind of subscription they want, they offer three tiers. However, the highest tier, Premium, lets gamers access over 700 games and even classics.

Sony is also offering a different tier for select markets
For markets that do not have access to their cloud streaming feature, Sony is releasing a PlayStation Plus Deluxe tier for them. They revealed that it will be available at a lower price compared to the Premium tier. Moreover, it includes the following features:
- Access to classic games from PS1, PS2, and PSP
- Access to time-limited game trials
Finally, Deluxe subscribers have the same benefits as the Essential and Extra tiers. However, Sony has not yet released details about pricing and only mentioned that it will “vary by market.”
