Skybound Entertainment — Striking Distance tie up to prove a boon for The Callisto Protocol

Skybound Entertainment, creators of the Walking Dead games have recently partnered with Striking Distance, a Krafton subsidiary set up to weave “an original narrative experience in the PUBG universe”.

Striking Distance is led by founder and CEO Glen Schofield, a veteran game developer who was previously a member of the now-defunct Visceral Games. The company which was under EA’s banner was the creator of Dead Space. Schofield left Visceral in 2009, founding Sledgehammer Games, an Activision subsidiary, which he then left in 2018. The studio comprises of other industry veterans from the Dead Space and Call of Duty team.

The studio announced its first game, which looks and sounds like the spiritual successor of Dead Space 3, called The Callisto Protocol. The game is set in a maximum security prison on Jupiter’s dead moon Callisto, in the year 2320.

According to a recent tweet, Striking Distance Studios was searching for a Marketing Project Manager as late as 3rd February of this year.

The partnership is meant to strengthen cooperation between both entities, help speed up development of the new game through cooperation and joint effort and ensure optimal delivery to players.

The Callisto Protocol is set to release in the year 2022 on Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X & Series S and PlayStation 5.
