Sifu: How To Defeat The Artist – Tips, and Tricks

The Museum boss Kuroki the Artist is one of the more difficult fights in the game. Her mix of combos and attacks leads to some unpredictability, making it harder to try and get her patterns. It’s one of the most intense battles in Sifu and has a beautiful set piece to top it off. There are strategies to help you defeat The Artist. Let’s go through each phase:

Phase I

She uses long-bladed weapons in phase one, so you’ll take chip damage if you try and block her attacks. It’s better to dodge and avoid her attacks than try for parries when you begin to understand how she times her swings. It will be difficult since she mixes both high and low attacks in her combos. She also has a guard break combo that can catch you if you’re not careful.

  • The best way to approach phase one is to bait her attacks. Move close enough, so she begins a combo and then runs away just as she starts it. Then before she ends her combo, run back in and get a few hits before moving out again. Repeat this process, and you’ll be able to damage her consistently.
  • You may not be able to execute this all the time because of her combo extenders and leap attacks. She also has a spinning attack that you should avoid as it’s difficult to run away. However, it’s the best chance you have at dishing damage.

Phase II

In Phase II, she begins using smaller knives, so you’ll still take damage if you block. The strategy with Phase I will no longer work here. However, her attacks are more predictable, so avoiding and parrying is your best bet. You can also catch her knives if you have the Weapon Catch skill.

  • She’ll frequently back off from range before beginning an attack, so prepare your parry or avoid it once she rushes in. Then after she completes her moves, you have a chance to unleash a combo before she backs away again.
  • Defeating The Artist will yield points to improve your Skill Tree. You’ll then find yourself back at Wuguan, where you can progress to the next level.
