Shawn Mendes Cancels World Tour to Prioritize Mental Health Struggles

Sad news to all the fans out there, not long since the beginning then postponing the world tour. Shawn Mendes just announced the cancellation of his entire Wonder The World Tour. The 23-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter expressed that he is going to prioritize his mental health first.

Mendes expressed his announcement through his social media accounts

He further explained the reason why he decided on canceling his world tour. Unfortunately, he wasn’t ready after all due to the toll he is going to take from the tour.

After he consulted with a group of health professionals, he concluded to cancel his world tour. He wrote, “I unfortunately have to cancel the rest of the tour dates in North America, and the UK / Europe. We were hopeful that I might be able to pick up with the rest of the dates after some much needed time off, but at this time I have to put my health as my first priority.

Moreover, he reassured the fans that he is still going back to make music and going on tour soon. He added, “I know you all have been waiting so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this but I promise I will be back as soon as I’ve taken the right time to heal. I love you all and thank you all so much for supporting me and sticking by me on this journey.”

Mendes has also been touring since he was 15 and has been active in the industry for quite a long time. It also wasn’t easy to be in the heavy public eye at such a young age. So good for him to finally take the rest he needed to recover from the weight he was carrying.

The fans would understand and respect what he is going through at this moment. Just listen to his songs to give you comfort while waiting for him. We are waiting for you, Shawn Mendes!
