Ron DeSantis’ Exit Wouldn’t Benefit Nikki Haley, Here’s Why

Ron DeSantis exit from election isn't the best for Nikki Haley

The Republican candidate Nikki Haley has been eager to have a one-on-one fight against Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential elections. Her contemporary and Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis made this dream come true by retracting his campaign.

This news greatly energized her as she delivered it with the wish ‘May the best women win.’ However, this resignation isn’t going to directly favor Haley as many believe. In Fact, it can negatively affect her.

DeSantis’ resignation energizes Nikki Haley

On Sunday, January 21, Ron DeSantis stepped down from the political race stating that he no longer has a vision. His decision can favor two people ahead namely, Nikki Haley, and Donald Trump.

The pre-election surveys predict a similar sentiment where DeSantis hardly had one digit in both South Carolina and New Hampshire, as per NBC NEWS.

In that sense, the two-people race began a lot earlier and thus far it hasn’t significantly showcased widespread success of Haley’s campaign.

Ron DeSantis becomes former President’s trump card

After stepping down from his campaign the 45-year-old American politician has announced his support for the former President. He has shared that Trump has a vision as opposed to himself and he would like to support it.

This statement capturing a change of heart has shocked netizens who have witnessed the former President going at lengths to drag DeSantis and his family’s name as competitors.

However, this is an appealing scenario for Haley’s campaign which believes that DeSantis supporters will be divided between her and Mr. Trump.

The former United Nations Ambassador also believes that the nation wouldn’t wish to witness another Trump vs. Biden election.

This is true but it remains unclear whether people would choose her as a Republican representative after her statements that people believe are more inclined to the Democratic campaign.

Is she truly a Republican candidate?

One of the biggest attractive point of the 52 year-old American politician’s campaign is nothing less than a double-edged sword. To appeal to the citizens she has been endorsing herself as the true opposite of Donald Trump.

While doing so she is also allegedly appearing as a Democrat dressed in a Republican mask (not to be confused with a moderate.) Her recent statement detailing growing up in America as an Indian-American has ticked many people off who claim she keeps flip-flopping.

Vivek Ramaswamy has discussed similar sentiments on the Tucker Carlson Network by calling her a Trojan horse for Democrats. He accused her of strategically becoming a puppet for nonpartisan entities in a political landscape manipulation scheme.

What can favor Nikki Haley

At this point in the 2024 elections, resignation of Ron DeSantis, whom Haley already surpassed, isn’t likely to directly favor her. She is also unlikely to be accepted as a Trump alternative.

Therefore, the only thing that can favor her is to showcase why she is the ideal candidate to become the 47th president of the United States rather than a good Republican alternative to Donald Trump to challenge Joe Biden.
