Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Games to Remake Max Payne 1 and 2

Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar confirmed that they will be remaking Max Payne!

REMEDY. ROCKSTAR. REMAKES.

Remedy and Rockstar are set to remake the first two Max Payne games. YES, and NO.

Yes, you read that right; No, no your eyes are not deceiving you, buddy! Remedy Entertainment will work together once again with Rockstar Games as they revive the beloved ex-cop vigilante.

“Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy, and we know the millions of fans worldwide feel the same. We’re hugely excited to be working with our partners at Rockstar Games once again for the chance to bring the story, action, and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways.”
– Tero Virtala, Remedy Ceo, said in an interview for the remake of Max Payne 1/2

The studio already confirmed that the remake is already in the works and will be released sooner than expected.

They also announced that the new game will be a combination of the first two games in the series. To add, the standalone title will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

Max Payne was a neo-noir thriller’s first third-person shooter action game released in 2001. This was the first game ever to perfect the slow-motion gunplay. Do you remember Neo’s famous bullet-dodging move in slow motion in “The Matrix”? Well, that is exactly similar to Max Payne. This was not a surprise since the first installment was released just a few years after The Matrix hit the theaters in 1999.

Due to the game’s popularity, it even spawned 2 more sequels in the series: Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (2003) and Max Payne 3 (2012).

On the other hand, ahead of the remake, Remedy is also working on the release of Alan Wake 2 on Epic Games. The game will kick off next year, 2023.
