YouTuber Akaki Kuumeri has invented one such modification for the PS5’s DualSense gamepad. Competing in a controller mod contest, Kuumeri has used a 3D printer to design a one-handed controller adapter for the DualSense!
How does it work?
- The design consists of a snap-on adapter to control the left stick by balancing the controller on one’s thigh, or on a flat surface and moving the entire controller.
- The controller has to be moved against a surface to move the second analog left stick.
- All the inputs of the controller can be accessed using the stick from the right side.
- The L2 and R2 buttons can also be pressed with just one finger, given some practice.

Moreover, Kuumeri has uploaded the design for the adapter online. Anyone who will want the design can re-create it. Kuumeri’s DualSense design was just one among many other designs for other controllers. You can view Kuumeri’s design here at PrusaPrinters.
This is definitely a welcome move, especially in an area where Sony and PlayStation are lacking. However, the adapter is not in production or in stores. You have to have a 3D printer or know someone who does to make one.
Dual Sense Controller
- The PS5’s DualSense is one of the most convenient and comfortable controllers of this generation. With an in-built microphone, a solid D-pad, and no glaring lights, it is Sony’s best gamepad to date. When it comes to players with limited mobility, concerns arise. Recently, Microsoft had come up with the Xbox Adaptive Controller in 2018. This was intended to increase accessibility for players with limited mobility.
- Sony has not been as involved in making more accessible versions of its gamepads. Though Sony has been at the forefront of in-game accessibility, they have been lacking when it comes to hardware accessibility. While the PS4 had received a back button attachment for the DualShock 4, the DualSense controllers have not received anything new. The only available options are from third-party manufacturers, such as the Reflext gamepad from SCUF.
