Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Now Led by Ubisoft Montréal

Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake

Ubisoft has announced that their upcoming game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has now switched studios. The game was being developed by Ubisoft India-based Mumbai and Pune Studios at first, however, now the game will be led by the Ubisoft Montréal Studios instead.

“The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montréal, the very birthplace of the epic Sands of Time trilogy. This decision is an important step, and the team, building on the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the scope of the game to deliver the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic when it’s ready.” reads the statement released by the Prince of Persia Twitter account.

This game was supposed to be Ubisoft India’s first major title. While the studio has assisted with games like Rainbow Six Extraction and Just Dance, they never really worked on a major title. The game was announced back in September of 2020 and was supposed to be released in January 2021.

Just like the other Assassin’s Creed games, this game runs on their AnvilNext Engine too.

However, the fans did not like the official trailer which was released by Ubisoft. Seeing the poor reception of the trailer, Ubisoft has announced a lot of delays since that time. They even gave another update a few months back, saying that the game should be released in 2022. But after looking at the current situation, it is safe to say that the game could be delayed again.
