The Pokemon Trading Card Game Live is the latest iteration of the online TCG. It features a design upgrade from the previous iteration to match current technology. It looks like a foundation where the Pokemon Company can bring more noticeable changes to compete in the online TCG landscape.
However, since its announcement late in 2021, it has been quiet.
That all changed when the Pokemon TCG Twitter announced the launch of a limited beta in Canada. The beta will help test the integrity of servers and find any problems with the gameplay experience of this new version.
PC, Mac, and mobile users can now download the free-to-play app now and test it out. There has been no information on how long this beta test will last though people will have to register and wait for a slot to open.

One concern for many online players was their progress with the previous Pokemon TCG Online platform. While the Pokemon Company didn’t address it at first, they later revealed that it would be possible to migrate collections. They will likely give a window for players to do that when the new version releases before they sunset the old one.
Pokemon TCG Live looks like an online platform that will update alongside the English version of the TCG. The latest set, Brilliant Stars, will release on February 25. It will feature new V-Star cards and alternate art cards featuring trainers with their Pokemon.
