Back in January of 2020, Niantic (Pokemon Go’s creators) announced that they will be testing various kinds of events, bonuses, and more. The creators then conceived wonderful events called Pokemon Spotlight Hour and Mystery Bonus Hour. After a handful of user feedback, they decided to unite the two events into one.
This year, the Pokemon Spotlight Hour is still ongoing to give more excitement to Pokémon Go players.
But first, what is Pokémon Spotlight Hour?
Pokémon Spotlight Hour is a weekly event that takes place every Tuesday. It only happens for one hour, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (your local time). This means that you have to be quick and make the most out of it. You may ask, “Hey, what do I get from this event?”. Well, that is why we are here!
For March 29 Spotlight Hour, these are the things you have to take note of:
-
Shiny Pokémon of the day: PARAS

Paras is a bug/grass-type Gen 1 Pokémon that resembles the nymph stage of a cicada. Can it be shiny? Well, yes of course! During the Spotlight Hour, Paras will spawn more often than usual. Some of it may be the Shiny, while some may be the common ones. If you are lucky, you will probably capture maybe a couple of them, even the shiny ones. As Ash used to say, gotta catch ’em all!
-
Spotlight Hour Bonus: 2x CANDY when catching a Pokémon
During the event, you will receive twice the amount of candy when capturing a Pokémon. That is quite a nice deal!
If you are that adventurous type and do not want to miss out on some of the best Pokémon Go events, we suggest you hop in on the hype! Well, a shiny Paras ain’t so bad, isn’t it?
