Pokemon GO: Spotlight Hour
The Spotlight Hour is a Pokemon Go weekly event that takes place every Tuesday evening (from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in your local time zone). This event gives an increased spawn frequency of certain types of Pokémon which sometimes include a shiny variant of the said Pokémon. For this week’s Spotlight Hour, the humanoid Pokémon Meditite will be taking the spotlight!

Spotlight Hour: Rewards
During the spotlight hour, players will be receiving an increased spawn rate of the spotlight Pokémon Meditite and twice the XP gained for each captured Pokémon. This is only available for 60 minutes, so be sure to make the most out of this weekly event as much as you can.
Spotlight Hour: Preparation and Tips
There are several things you need to prepare before jumping on the Spotlight Hour to prevent wasting the whole 60 minutes. The following are:
- Incense – This item can be used to lure Pokémon to your location. You can buy this using Pokecoins
- Pokémon Storage Box – Make sure to have ample space to make room for all the Pokémon you will be capturing during the event
- Pokeballs – Bring as many as you can. You know what the common Pokémon catchphrase goes, “Gotta catch ’em all!”
- Pokémon Candy – To maximize your Pokemon’s potential, make sure to collect Pokemon Candies so you can evolve them.
- Berries – To get double Candy or make catching easier.
- Lucky Eggs or Star Pieces – Boost XP gained alongside the XP booster in the event
Next Feature Pokemon (Next Week)
Meditite is the last Spotlight Hour Pokemon for July. There is no official announcement on which Pokemon will be taking the center stage next month, August 2022.
