Ever since it was launched in 2016, Pokémon Go’s popularity has only increased, mostly owing to good reasons but sometimes owing to infamous incidents as well. The fact remains, it is one of the most trending games all over the world and every player wants to collect as many Pokémon as possible. Well to all such Pokémon trainers, we bring this guide which might make your life as a trainer a bit easier.
Who is Salamence?
- Salamence is a Dragon and Flying-type Pokemon, who you’ll take on the Salamence Raid in Pokemon GO. Defeating it will give you an opportunity to catch this exceptionally powerful beast and rule the world of Pokemon Go. But before you imagine a crown on your head, let us tell you that this fight is incredibly hard.
- Salamence was introduced in Generation III, where many trainers were looking for a Bagon to evolve into Salamence. It’s featured as one of the most powerful Pokemon in almost every Pokemon game including Pokemon GO. And again, that means it is going to be a tough fight and you’ll need strong Pokemon for that purpose.
- It is said that this Raid is next to impossible to beat solo but with two people it drops to medium difficulty. So, keeping that in mind, don’t shy away to call a buddy or two to help you out. In fact, it’s probably best to bring two teammates when taking on this Raid. If you have a really strong Pokemon or a strong Ice-type Pokemon, then things could be a bit easier.
Weakness and Strategy
While Salamence is a really strong Pokemon, it does have weaknesses and the biggest of them is Ice. Now, this is quite a natural phenomenon – the song of Ice and Fire (pun intended). So being a dragon, just like other Dragons, Salamence can be shown a hard time using ice-types. Also, it is a flying Pokemon so flying types take additional damage from ice. This means a strong ice-type Pokemon can make things pretty bad for Salamence.
It is also weak to Fairies and opposing Dragons, but Ice-types are going to be the easiest way to counter Salamence. The strong Ice-types can provide you a quick win against Salamence like Galarian Darmanitan, who can beat this Raid in 85.7 seconds. Shadow Mamoswine has the fastest win record at this Raid at 79.8 seconds. The combination of Ice Shard and Avalanche can also take out Salamence in 96.1 seconds.
But in case you don’t have a strong Ice-type Pokemon or two moderately strong ice types, it’s best to seek help. So, our advice to you again would be to do this raid with a friend and in case you have weak Pokemon, ask multiple friends. Rest is up to you; if you take challenges head-on then, by all means, take your time!
