Pokemon GO: Festival of Colors Event Guide

The Festival of Colors Event in Pokémon GO is coming on March 15, 2022 and will end on March 20, 2022. Here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon GO’s Festival of Colors event.

When is the event taking place?

Festival of Colors event will start on Tuesday, March 15 at 10:00am local time. The event is expected to run for almost a week, and it ends on Sunday, March 20 at 8:00pm local time.

Things you shouldn’t miss out on

Oricorio is finally coming to Pokémon Go, and you can only get this Pokémon during the Festival of Colors event. One neat thing about this Pokemon is it will have different Styles depending on where players are. Also, there will be Face Stickers available in the in-game shop for free during the event.

The different Styles for Oricorio available in this event are the following

Style Region
Baile Europe, Middle East, Africa
Pom-Pom Americas
Pa’u African, Asian, Pacific, Caribbean Islands
Sensu Asia-Pacific

 

Completing the event’s Collection Challenge will give you great rewards

  • 20,000 XP
  • 3,000 Stardust
  • Encounter with Oricorio

The following Wild Pokémon have boosted encounter rates

Drowzee Horsea Gligar
Slugma Taillow Trapinch
Turtwig Croagunk Fletchling

 

The Rare spawns for this event are the following Pokemons

  • Beautifly
  • Dustox
  • Alomomola

Players can also encounter Oricorio and as we mentioned, the Pokémon’s Style will depend on the player’s region.

Players can participate in Raids during the Festival of Color event

During the event, they can team up with other Trainers and encounter the following Pokémon

One-Star Raids

  • Jigglypuff
  • Torchic
  • Treecko
  • Mudkip
  • Rockruff

Three-Star Raids

  • Marowak
  • Marowak (Alolan)
  • Chansey
  • Umbreon
  • Druddigon

Five-Star Raids

  • Tornadus (Therian)

Mega Raids

  • Lopunny (Mega)

Complete Field Research tasks to encounter the following Pokémon 

Bulbasaur Squirtle Charmander
Grimer (Alola) Castform Sunny Castform
Rainy Castform Snowy Castform Plant Burmy
Sandy Burmy Trash Burmy

 

Rare Field Research tasks give you the chance to encounter Oricorio (Style is based on your region)

Additionally, completing specific Field Research tasks rewards you Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.

Special Event for Trainers in India

Trainers in India are able to participate in a Regional Challenge from Friday, March 18 at 10:00am until Sunday, March 20 at 8:00pm Indian Standard Time. Moreover, the Regional Challenge will require Trainers to catch 2,000,000 Pokémon. Doing so will give them a Bonus Reward of 2x Catch Candy.

Event Box

Trainers in India can exchange 125 PokéCoins a celebratory Event Box until Sunday, March 20. The box has a Lucky egg, a Lure Module, a Rainy Lure Module, and a Mossy Lure Module.
