It isn’t uncommon knowledge that much and all of the themes of films are somewhere based on real life. The passing of PewDiePie’s pet dog Maya came to him and his wife with grief and sorrow. Who is the One-Eyed Pug Maya?
Anyone who has been watching PewDiePie for long enough knows that every now and then during his videos, audiences get to hear barks that loom from behind him. As it is, PewDiePie has two pug friends.
One of the pugs was one-eyed and was named Maya. The other pug furry friend is still well and alive, and PewDiePie has named it Edgar.
PewDiePie Dog Maya cause of death
- In a series of his Youtube videos earlier this year, Felix (PewDiePie) revealed that his one-eyed Pug Maya has been suffering from bad health. Maya also showed signs of Dementia and was diagnosed with it.
- Maya stayed with PewDiePie for over 17 years. If it bothers you how she left the world, we will tell you that sometimes people and pets pass on natural aging. Neither did Maya have an accident nor did she go through some abrupt end.
Maya simply lived her life, lived to the point where she found old age. And with old age comes the eventual deterioration of your otherwise healthy organs. One such organ was Maya’s brain. Dementia coupled with old age led to her demise.
This is made even more evident when Felix wrote that “17 years is a long time for a pug, but no time in the world would have been enough.”
How PewDiePie and his wife are dealing with the death of their dog
- This may have reinstated many fans who have gone through something similar into feeling what Felix and his wife Marzia are currently going through. 17 years for dogs of most breeds is a long time.
- But even more so for pugs whose average lifespan is around 10-15 years. Still, that doesn’t make the pain any less, although god forbid it always could have been more devastating.
What PewDiePie’s Dog meant to him and Marzia
PewDiePie and his wife Marzia revealed the death of their dog Maya on 18 December morning in their Instagram handles. PewDiePie thanked Maya for all the times in which she made him happy. He also thanked Maya for bringing him and Marzia together, something all pets tend to do.
“You filled my life with joy, love, and memories I’ll always treasure. You will forever be in my heart, and I miss you so much already. I love you Puga-chan.”
Added PewDiePie, after which the comment section filled with fans and people from across the globe wishing their best to the couple. May Maya rest in peace, wherever she is.
