- There will be new stealth mechanics within the game, which deviates from the fast-paced gunplay the franchise is known for. Most of the time, you would be gunning your way through the enemies. However, in some sections and quests of the game, you’ll need to maintain a low profile to succeed.
- The game was originally developed using Unreal Engine 4. However, the developers have expressed their desire to provide an upgrade by porting it to the latest Unreal Engine 5. As a result, players might experience an improved version in the future as a free update.
Payday 3 single-player mode: Online or Offline?
Payday 3 fans will be disappointed after the official announcement regarding its single-player mode. According to Starbeeze Studio’s global brand director Almir Listo, the game will require a constant internet connection to function, even in the single-player mode. He explains that this mechanic is infused due to the crossplay and cross-progression features within the game.

Thus, staying online will save a player’s progression to the game server instead of the device’s local storage. The community, however, is not pleased with the news and is voicing their dissatisfaction across social media. The fact that its predecessor, Payday 2, had such a mode with offline support further explains the dismay of the audiences.
However, we should also remember that most games today rely on an internet connection as a core element. With that in mind, Payday 3’s choice could be somewhat defended in 2023.

Payday 3 is coming out worldwide on September 21, 2023. It will be released on a number of platforms like PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Linux.
