Anyone here who heard or read about BINI Maloi? If there’s K-pop and J-pop, P-pop is definitely worth exploring, too. In an idol industry of various fanservice, who would have imagined seeing your fave give you money for the fare? Well, no one’s doing it yet, but for BINI Maloi, that’s how she caught the attention of fans, social media users, and even a Korean media outlet. It had been an old video, but it should be one of the most iconic clips in P-pop history; here’s what happened, and watch it here!
Why Did BINI Maloi And Her ‘Fanservice’ Go Viral?
In the video posted way back in August 2023, a fan jokingly asked for fare money to get home after the event. BINI Maloi and the rest of her members were still up on stage, but the former heard the fan. After understanding what they said, BINI Maloi was possibly thinking about how to get (or give) the money, then laughed it off after a while, and proceeded to give cute heart gestures to the audience and fans.

But, after the event, who would have thought that the P-pop girl group member would fulfill the fan’s wish? In another video, Maloi was off the stage, fishing something out of her pocket. The fan again asked, “Uhm, p’wede po bang pahingi ng pamasahe?” [Uhm, can I ask for fare money?]
BINI Maloi slowly made her way to the barricade near the fans and gave a ₱1000 bill (approximately $20). After handing the peso bill, the idol told them, while looking into their eyes, “Mag-ingat ka.” [Keep safe.] If you’re around Metro Manila and traveling from Okada Manila, the ₱1000 bill is huge. You can probably still eat using the money or even pay for two of their friends’ fare, too.
While this clip trended last year, it became a hot topic again last January 7, 2024, after a fan Quote Retweeted the video. In the caption they wrote, “a ppop idol na bibigyan ka ng pamasahe.” [a ppop idol who will give you fare money] Watch the video here if you haven’t fallen for BINI Maloi yet!

This time around, the viral clip reached a larger audience. To this extent, even Koreaboo, a known Korean news media outlet, wrote an article about it. BINI Maloi quickly noticed the article from the media outlet, and Quote Retweeted her honest reaction.

Meet Maloi And The Rest Of BINI
If this is your first time hearing or reading about them, here’s some of the information you need to know (if you’re planning to stan BINI!) The member on the viral clip is Maloi Ricalde, one of the group’s best vocalists (main vocalist represent!) and dubbed by BLOOMs (BINI fandom) as the “Nation’s Girlfriend.” She is the third oldest in the group and a 2002-liner. Check out her socials (TikTok, X, Instagram) if you want to be updated with her current outfits and photocard-worthy selfies; Maloi has been very active on social media!
BINI is an eight-member Filipino girl group that officially debuted in 2021. Aside from Maloi, the other BINI members include Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena. If you wish to know them more, BLOOMs have made compilation videos of the girls; honestly, they are known to be “Nation’s Girl Group” for a reason — BINI is more than their funny antics!
The group is under the management of ABS CBN and Star Magic, and they released their most recent single last November 2023, Pantropiko. According to their official Instagram, “BINI is an 8-member girl group composed of young, modern Filipinas who aspire to share their talent and passion with the world.”
