Oshi no Ko Anime Release date
- On Thursday, March 16, 2023, Kadokawa announced that Akasaka and Yokoyari’s Oshi no Ko anime adaptation will premiere on the Tokyo MX channel on April 12, 2023, at 11:00 PM (10:00 a.m. EDT).
- While, on March 23, 2023, selected theaters in Japan will host a 90-minute special advance premiere of Oshi no Ko Season 1 Episode 1.
Studio Doga Kobo, known for producing Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie, Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, and Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater, will be producing the Oshi no Ko anime.
Where to watch Oshi no Ko anime and how many episodes will be there?
- In November 2022, at the Anime NYC panel, it was announced that HIDIIVE had acquired the Oshi no Ko anime streaming service. So, it will be available there to watch online!
- While people living in Japan can obviously watch it on the Tokyo MX channel on April 12th.
The episode count for Oshi no Ko Season 1 has not been confirmed by the creators or production studio.
What to expect from Oshi no Ko Anime and what is the plot?
Oshi no Ko follows Ai Hoshino’s journey as a celebrated idol, admired by her numerous fans. Upon visiting Gorou, a rural gynecologist, he eagerly offers his assistance to her. However, a mysterious accident leads him to be born to his favorite idol.
This marks the beginning of Gorou’s journey, as he comes to understand the harsh realities of the entertainment industry. Hopefully, we’ll soon get a release of this show too.
The trailer starts with the past lives of the twins. So, it’s likely that the first episode of the anime will show how they crossed paths in their previous lives.
Oshi no Ko anime staff, cast, and more
- Daisuke Hiramaki is directing the Oshi no Ko anime, with Chao Nekotomi as the assistant director. Kanna Hirayama is responsible for character design, while Jin Tanaka handles the series composition.
- The opening theme song “Idol” will be performed by YOASOBI, while the ending theme song “Mephisto” will be performed by Queen Bee.
