5. Julius Randle
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle is probably in his best year so far. Randle, 28, is already in his 9th season. He is averaging a career-high in points (25.1 PPG) while also posting up double-digit rebound averages (10.0 RPG).
The 2021 Most Improved Player of the Year awardee is a great contributor to the New York Knicks. In this year’s playoffs, Julius Randle helped his team reach the Eastern Conference semifinals. Although they fell short against the Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat, it was an amazing postseason for the Knicks. The two-time All-Star is a reliable scoring big man, however, his occasional choke jobs especially on big games are damaging his greatness. Aside from being an All-Star reserve this year, Randle was also selected in the 2023 All-NBA third team.
4. Domantas Sabonis
Light the beam! Arguably the biggest factor why Sacramento Kings turned the tides is no other than Domantas Sabonis. Safe to say, the Kings may have lost Tyrese Haliburton to the Indiana Pacers, thankfully they got Sabonis instead. Indeed, they improved their roster with a major change.
This season, Sabonis posted 19.1 points, 7.3 assists, and 12.3 rebounds, while also shooting a very efficient 61.5% on the field. Because of Sabonis, Sacramento reached the playoffs for the very first time in 16 years. Not only that, the Kings were the third seed in the stacked Western Conference. Named as an All-Star and All-NBA member in 2023, it’s undeniable that Sabonis is a top 5 power forward today.
3. Zion Williamson
Despite missing a lot of games, Zion Williamson is still arguably one of the best forwards in the game. The 22-year-old superstar only played 29 games in the 2022-2023 season, but still, he was selected as an All-Star starter. The former first-overall pick had some great highlights this year despite his injuries.

Zion has the potential to become an all-time great but his health is keeping him from achieving that. The biggest question is how he could impact the New Orleans Pelicans’ future when he becomes fully healthy. This season, they were already looking good and were about to reach the playoffs. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
2. Anthony Davis
Surely, Anthony Davis has already created an amazing career, even worthy of the Hall-of-Fame. AD is one of the best two-way players in the league who can score the ball and lock down his opponents.
His numbers this season are very impressive, making him one of the best players snubbed in the 2023 All-Star game. With him on the floor, Los Angeles Lakers fans are sure that Davis will be very productive. But, just like Zion, Anthony Davis is also very susceptible to injuries. Throughout his career, his injuries are what’s holding the 8-time All-Star back. But, overall, Davis is ranked second on our top five list of the best power forwards today.
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
There’s no need to question that Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best power forward in the league as of right now. This season, he is averaging a career-high in points (31.1 PPG) and led the Bucks to the first seed in the East.
He is also a member of the All-NBA First Team this year and was selected to be an All-Star captain. Would you believe that Giannis is just 28 years old? Yes, he is! And, even at a young age, the Greek Freak has already achieved more than 95% of the players today.
