Genshin Impact Shenhe guide: Best weapons, build, and more (2023)

As the first phase of Genshin Impact 3.5 is coming to an end, players are patiently waiting for Shenhe and Ayaka’s reruns. The former is seeing her rerun after a year and a lot of fans that want to pull for her. 

Shenhe, the Disciple of the Cloud Retainer, is finally getting a rerun banner. She is a very niche Polearm user that can only support other Cryo characters. To summarize the best weapons for the Lonesome Transcendence, one has to know how the character works. Her elemental skill grants increased damage when her party members deal Cryo attacks to the enemy. Any Polearm that can increase her effectiveness will be good for her.

The Calamity Queller is her signature weapon as it has the highest base attack in the game, capping at 741 on level 90. The passive offers a 12% Elemental DMG bonus. It transfers a six-time attack stack of 3.2% each, which doubles when she is not on the field. This best-in-slot weapon for Shenhe allows her to provide monstrous buffs to her paired Cryo DPS.

For more free-to-play options, Wavebreaker’s Fin (obtainable from Gacha) is a really solid choice. It has the highest base attack among the 4-star polearm that are available in the game. The passive, however, is not useful for her overall kit. 

Lastly, Favonius Lance is a neutral choice that grants her decent base attack and energy recharge. Her ult has a whooping 80 energy cost and the mentioned Polearm helps her funnel more particles to keep her burst ability up.

Artifact sets and builds

Shenhe requires a lot of attack substat to work with. In most cases, the two-piece Gladiator’s Finale and two-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence works great on her. Most players run attack percentage sets that are available in the game. 

Another great option would be the four-Piece Noblesse Oblige artifact set. The set bonus increases the party member’s damage by 20% when Shenhe uses her Elemental Burst. She has to be built with sufficient energy recharge to use it properly. 

When in need of more energy, any two-piece Attack set with the Emblem of Severed Fate can go a long way.

The only team that that Shenhe excels at is the Ayaka Freeze comp. It comprises of the two Cryo duo along with Kokomi for the Hydro application and Kazuha for elemental buffs. It might seem like an overkill to make a setup with only 5-star characters but given the damage output it is worth all the investment.

Players who are looking to pull for Shenhe should know that she excels at her role as a Cryo Support. But her only requirement is a healthy amount of attack percentage and ideally an above 150% energy recharge to unleash her full potential. With that out of the way, she is a must-pick for someone looking to create the godly Freeze team in the game.
