Top 5 strongest domain expansions in Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen has become perhaps the most popular anime series in recent years, with its unique characters, action-packed fight scenes, and intriguing plotlines.

One of the most impressive techniques featured in the series is Domain Expansion. Jujutsu sorcerers have a personal domain, a space where they have complete control and can easily defeat their enemies. In this article, we’ll take a look at the top five strongest domain expansions in Jujutsu Kaisen.

5) Mahito’s Self-Embodiment of Perfection

While Mahito’s technique is undeniably formidable, there are others that can surpass it in terms of sheer power. Like all domain expansions, Self-Embodiment of Perfection increases the effectiveness of Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration cursed technique by guaranteeing it hits the target’s soul.

Nanami described the experience of being inside Mahito’s domain as akin to literally being in the palm of the latter’s hand. Alongside Gojo’s Unlimited Void, Nanami said that Self-Embodiment of Perfection is almost a guaranteed victory for the caster.

However, a major drawback of this ability is that Mahito is forced to touch the soul of anyone inside. This backfired when Yuji entered the domain from the outside, causing Mahito to unintentionally touch Sukuna’s soul, prompting the King of Curses to lash out at Mahito.

4) Naoya Zenin’s Time Cell Moon Palace

Naoya’s ability to expand his domain manifests a structure resembling a womb, but with a giant eye instead of a uterus. When Naoya launches a direct attack from his domain, it takes the form of film gauges that cannot be blocked. These apply projection sorcery at a cellular level impact, causing extensive damage to the target’s entire body.

Naoya inherited his father’s innate technique and has the ability to transform one second into 24 frames. When he activates this technique, anything that his palm touches must adhere to the 24 FPS rule, or it will become frozen for a second within the animated frame.

Since this technique takes into account all the movements even at the cellular level, it is next to impossible to get out of this realm or overpower it. Overall, this becomes an insanely powerful technique and can be placed just ahead of Mahito’s domain expansion.

3) Kenjaku’s Womb Profution

Kenjaku is one of the primary antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen who seeks to evolve humanity through cursed energy. He transplants his brain into different people so that he can live long enough to see his dream come true. His domain expansion is Womb Profusion, which produces a towering column composed of malevolent spirits. Unlike other domains, it is an open-barrier type similar to Sukuna’s.

Kenjaku’s cursed technique creates a large and intricate domain that resembles a womb, with various structures and passageways branching out from the central hub. Within it, he can control the flow and properties of cursed energy, allowing him to amplify the abilities of his allies and weaken his enemies.

Not much is known about the powers of Kenjaku’s domain. But being similar to Sukuna’s, it might have a guaranteed hit on the target. Kenjaku is likely to have enough cursed energy and something up his sleeve that makes him a strong character in Jujutsu Kaisen.

2) Satoru Gojo’s Ultimate Void

Gojo’s domain expansion Ultimate Void comes in second place on this list, which is quite arguable with Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine. The ability of this particular domain is to transport both the user and their intended target to a place called the Limitless, an enormous void of endless knowledge. Here, the target’s mind is flooded with so much information in such a short amount of time that they become completely immobilized.

The target’s complete incapacitation is due to a phenomenon where they can see and feel everything while being unable to actually have this feeling at the same time.

Even 0.2 seconds in the void makes them receive about half a year’s information, leaving them with no option but to be in a state of complete shock.

The first time Gojo was seen using this technique was when he encountered Jogo, an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit. When Nanami was trapped in Self-Embodiment of Perfection, he considered Unlimited Void as an almost certain victory as it entraps its target.

1) Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine

Finally, Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine domain expansion is both simple and highly effective in completely annihilating its target. Sukuna’s domain expansion is set in an environment resembling a disfigured Buddhist shrine designed to enshrine a demon like Sukuna himself.

Unlike other techniques, it doesn’t create a distinct space within a barrier. Sukuna can directly manifest his power into reality, which ensures a sure-hit effect without the need for a barrier. Its absence creates an escape route, leading to the creation of a Binding Vow. This increases the domain’s effective area.

Within the Malevolent Shrine, Sukuna can employ a guaranteed hit in two separate forms. One is Dismantle, which targets inanimate objects, another is Cleave, which targets anything with cursed energy. It is a truly remarkable technique as the ability to create one’s innate domain without a barrier is similar to drawing on thin air, rather than on a canvas.
