For nearly almost 60 years, Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics finally meet again on the biggest stage in the NBA – the Finals. Join us as we try to break down the possibilities, probabilities, and odds in the upcoming battle for the 2022 NBA Championship.
Before we begin, who are you picking in a 7-game series: Golden State Warriors V.S. Boston Celtics?
A LOOK BACK IN HISTORY

The last time Golden State and Boston faced each other in the NBA finals was during the 1963-1964 season. It was literally the battle of the titans as we saw two legendary big men (Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell) battle each other for the first time for the elusive NBA championship.
That matchup then started the long rivalry between two of the best centers in basketball history. Now, after almost six (6) decades, history will repeat itself with Jaylen Tatum and the Celtics going up against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors for a chance to hold the Larry O’Brien Championship trophy.

The Takeaway
The Jayson Tatum-led- Boston Celtics will be facing their toughest opponent in this playoff so far – The Golden State Warriors. Earlier in the postseason, they easily took care of the Brooklyn Nets. Though they had a rough time with the Bucks and the Heat as their next matchups, they still came out alive and eventually reached the NBA Finals again.
Boston Celtics are hailed as the best defensive team in the league today, but can they really put a stop to the Warriors’ fluid offense? As great as the C’s are on defense, they don’t have as many offensive weapons as GSW has. The Dubs perfectly utilize all of their players which in turn results in a win.
A team that already has future Hall-of-Famers like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green now has new teammates showing up during big games. Names like Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, Gary Payton II, Otto Porter Jr., Moses Moody, Damion Lee, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Jonathan Kuminga, and Nemanja Bjelica.

NBA Finals Predictions
Truth be told, this is going to be a long series, 7 games to be exact. Don’t listen to people saying it’s going to be a sweep, because it won’t be. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and the whole Celtics basketball club have shown that they’re the top dog in the East and can beat any team that comes their way.
- Their defense is already phenomenal, so what they need is to close out the Warriors as fast as they can. The Celtics’ fate is up to the hands of Jayson Tatum. If he shows up every game, they’re going to give the Warriors a great fight.
- On the other hand, the “Death Lineup” that GSW has is already rested and in perfect harmony. It’s going to be very hard for the Celtics from the get-go. To add, the injured Gary Payton II was announced to be playing in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. To those who do not know, GP II is one of GSW’s best defenders which makes him a great asset.
Overall, the Warriors are favored to be crowned as the champs once again this year. But, it’s gonna be a tough battle and it’s going to be a bloodbath. The Warriors will need their full force to penetrate Boston’s tough-as-nails defense. It will take more than just the Splash Brothers to put this team down.
