Octordle: The New Wordle That’s Eight Times the Challenge

If you think Wordle’s too easy, why not take it up eight notches?

Octordle’s the newest spawn of the viral word game puzzle Wordle. In Wordle, players have six attempts to guess the word of the day. Just like in Wordle, you try to guess a five-letter word.

After hitting enter, the letters will be highlighted in either green or yellow to indicate if they appear in the word. Green boxes mean the letters are in the right place. Meanwhile, yellow boxes mean that the letters are part of the word but in a different slot.

But Octordle’s uniqueness is in the challenge itself.

Instead of guessing one word per day, the game makes you guess eight five-letter words. You have thirteen attempts to correctly guess the eight words of the day. It’s likely that you may get overwhelmed by the mechanics at first but as they say, practice makes perfect. This is why Octordle has another mode aside from the classic daily challenge.

Two game modes: Daily Octordle and Free Octordle

Daily Octordle is the daily challenge of the game. You try and guess the eight words until you run out of guesses. Each successful guess is still counted so don’t fret if you fail to guess all eight. This mode is perfect for those who want to have the classic Wordle experience.

Free Octordle, as the name implies, lets you play the game as much as you want. This is perfect for players who try to avoid the pressure of winning the daily challenge. It can also be a sort of warm-up for you if you need to prepare yourself before taking on the challenging daily Octordle. According to the game’s website, each Octordle is different so it can be a good way to exercise your brain.

As of writing, there are at least 5 different types of word games all based on Wordle. Among these are Dordle and Quordle. Dordle has you guess two words while Quordle has you guess four.
