November 2018 Xbox Update Brings Keyboard and Mouse Support & More

Xbox One

After all the announcements at X018, Xbox’s November 2018 update rolled out today. The update brings the most-awaited mouse and keyboard support, improved search and the Amazon Music app among others.

Developers can now allow keyboard and mouse support for their games, with players having the choice of control. The games that currently support mouse and keyboard are –

  • Fortnite
  • Warframe
  • Bomber Crew
  • Deep Rock Galactic
  • Strange Brigade
  • Vermintide 2
  • War Thunder
  • X-Morph Defense (support update coming this month)
  • Children of Morta
  • DayZ
  • Minion Master
  • Moonlighter
  • Vigor
  • Warface (support available in future)

Additionally, Razer, in partnership with Microsoft, has built the ‘Designed for Xbox’ mouse and keyboard that functions for Windows 10 PCs and the Xbox One. These products will be showcased at CES in January.

The update also brings Alexa Beta for the UK, Cortana improvements and new commands for a better voice-friendly gaming experience. Players can now quite a game/app entirely by saying, “Quit [game/app name]”.

Amazon Music is here to stay with a brand new app designed for the Xbox One. Currently, it’s available only in the States but will soon spread across different countries.

Last but not least, Xbox One’s search has improved drastically. The results from a search now include results from Xbox Assist, “Ready to Install” games or titles from your subscription services like Xbox Game Pass.
