Tim Paine has been in continuous controversy for the last few months and hasn’t been going well for the former Australian Test Captain.
Cricket Australia has recently released its annual contract list which left the fans shocked. The list doesn’t include the name of former Test Captain Tim Paine. Moreover, he is on an indefinite break from the game after a sexting scandal.
Some other players such as Wicketkeeper Matthew Wade and out-of-favor opener Marcus Harris were also not included in Cricket Australia’s list of nationally contracted players.
All-rounder Moises Henriques, batsman Ben McDermott, and bowlers Jhye Richardson and Kane Richardson were absent as well but would still represent Australia. Players not named in the contract list can earn a full contract by earning 12 ‘upgrade points’ during the year, with a Test match worth five points, an ODI of two points, and a T20 one point.
Moreover, there was a surprise addition to the Contract List, Dynamic wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis has earned a full Cricket Australia contract for the first time. While Mitch Marsh, Scott Boland, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Marcus Stoinis, and Mitchell Swepson earned contract upgrades.
The maximum number of players in the Cricket Australia annual contract list allowed is 20.
