You all might remember Niantic with some of its popular augmented reality mobile games. They may have been capitalizing on this idea, and luckily, the trick seems to be working pretty well. To those who do not know, Niantic is the developer responsible for the hit Pokemon game, Pokemon Go. This Pokemon game might be their best title but they also have similar games like Pikmin Bloom and Ingress. First released back in 2016, Pokemon Go is still standing and the hype does not seem to subside any moment now.
Now, Niantic is onto something new, something not far from what they’re used to but slightly different from their most successful game (i.e. Pokemon Go). Something is bouncing its way to the gaming scene and it is going to take you to places you’ve never been to. Introducing, Niantic’s very own sports gaming experience – NBA All-World.
NBA All-What?
One of Niantic’s senior producers, Marcus Matthews, proudly announced their newest basketball simulation game, NBA All-World on their official website. This was announced a few weeks ago and along with that is a short cinematic teaser trailer.
“It’s my great pleasure to help unveil today what our team at Niantic has been working on for some time: NBA All-World, an officially licensed real-world mobile game that will bring basketball to life in all new ways.”
NBA All-World is a video game that lets you step into the shoes of legendary NBA players right on their mobile devices. Officially licensed by the NBA, Niantic is offering a game that lets players indulge in mixing real basketball with the virtual side of it. As they’ve said, NBA All-World “will bring basketball to life in all new ways”. This must be probably it.

NBA All-World Gameplay
Niantic follows the footsteps of its previous games and that is adapting the augmented reality genre. Their games are supposed to be enjoyed outdoors whilst exploring the real world as well as the game itself. With that, their newest project won’t be diverting that much.
NBA All-World wants you to step outside and battle the best basketball players in your neighborhood via the geolocation method. It’s quite similar to Pokemon Go, only you’re going to be on the lookout for an opponent for a basketball match. You can challenge them in a shootout or you can test your skills by playing them in one-on-one battles. The first to score 3 points wins the game. Aside from that, you will also be in a vast open world where you can collect various items and jump on the latest fashion trend with the most amazing shoes, shirts, and many more.
How do I download the game?
The game will soon be entering soft launch and beta testing in the market. As early as now, you can begin pre-registration on the NBA All-World website. Register here to keep posted when the mobile game app will be available in your country. As announced, the game will be available on both Android (Google Play Store) and iOS (Apple App Store) devices.
The official release is also rumored to be part of the beginning of the 2022-2023 NBA season which will start on October 18, 2022.
