New World was down for maintenance as Amazon fixed issues that have caused players’ anguish. The game had been crashing for players around the world, and the maintenance resolves this issue along with others. However, in its new trend of weekly updates, New World also got an update along with the maintenance. The maintenance was to last for approximately three hours from 6 AM PT/ 3 PM CET.
The new update patch has three main fixes:
- a rare server crash
- a bug that has caused crowded combat
- occurrences of time skipping ahead
An additional change has also been made with the patch. The weekly housing taxes have been temporarily reduced by 90% until December’s update. The income of companies from homeownership has been increased to avoid income loss as well. It has been said that this is part of the “additional compensation” that players will be receiving in future update patches.

Players are starting to become a little unsatisfied with the game and its recurring issues. Some players were disappointed that the update patch did not bring anything new to the game, but the devs are rolling out compensation, as stated above. Others have said that this maintenance is fixing the last maintenance, while others have stated that the devs are testing players with an Early Access game, showing frustration.
New World had players queuing up in the thousands to play the game when it was released, but the issues the game faces are beginning to show. Hopefully, the devs can keep the players satisfied with future updates, and do not have to be in a position of rolling out more compensations in the future.
